A tour of the app
Every page in BreakoutScan sits in the same frame: a sidebar on the left, a top bar, and the page itself in the middle. Learn the frame once and nothing will feel unfamiliar.
The sidebar
Pages are grouped by what they’re for:
- Workspace — Home (your daily overview) and the Desk (several views on one screen).
- Markets — Runners, Catalysts, News and the Calendar — what’s happening in the market.
- Scanners — Pattern Scanner, VP Scanner, Full Scan, Order Flow and Unusual Volume — tools that search the whole market for you.
- You — your Watchlist and your Account.
Some pages open sub-items under their name — Runners lists its sessions, Catalysts lists your saved filters. Collapse at the bottom shrinks the sidebar to icons when you need room.
Your name sits at the very bottom of the sidebar. Click it for your account menu: Manage subscription, Dark mode or Light mode to switch how the app looks, Support and Log out. The menu also shows the email you’re signed in with.
The top bar
- Search — type a ticker or a company name to open its chart. Press / from anywhere to jump into it; your recent stocks are listed when it’s empty.
- ⌘K — a quick launcher: type a page or a ticker and press Enter, or pick a command such as Switch to dark mode or Log out. Press Ctrl + K on Windows, or click the ⌘K hint at the end of the search box.
- Market status — whether the market is in pre-market, open, after hours or closed, and when that changes. It knows holidays and half days.
- The clock — always New York time — the market’s time zone.
- Ask — opens BreakoutScan AI, the assistant, in a panel on the right (Ctrl + /).
On Home the assistant already sits on the page — you ask there and the answer appears in the same card — so the Ask button points you to it instead. See the assistant’s guide for what it can do.
