The index cards

Six cards across the top: the S&P 500, Nasdaq 100, Dow Jones and Russell 2000 (each shown through the fund that tracks it — the ticker tag says which), Bitcoin, and VIX futures, a gauge of how nervous the market is. Green means up today, red down. You’ll know the day’s mood before looking at a single stock.

Top Movers — and why they’re moving

Three tabs: Gainers, Losers and Unusual Volume (stocks trading far more shares than usual). Only stocks with real trading qualify, so a tiny stock up on a handful of shares won’t crowd the list. View all opens Runners.

Each card has a small why mark under the logo. Hover or tap it: a sparkle means BreakoutScan has written a short explanation of the move; a newspaper means the move rests on a press release or an SEC filing, and it shows you that headline.

Market Overview

Pick a group — the day’s top Gainers or Losers, My watchlist or the Magnificent 7 — and compare them two ways. Volume shows which stock is carrying the group’s trading and how busy each one is against its normal. Price draws each one’s move through the session as a line, so you can see who led and when. Click a line to focus it.

Market Themes

Ready-made baskets of stocks — nuclear, AI, biotech and more — ranked by how they’re doing over one day or this week. It answers “which corner of the market has the money today?” Click a theme to see the stocks inside it.

The line under the title says which session the one-day figures are: today while the market is open, pre-market before the bell, and after the close the regular session’s own move — the same close-to-close figure the Watchlist page shows. When the panel is showing an earlier session it names the day. A basket’s figure is the plain average of its stocks, each counted once: a stock that has not traded in that session counts as unchanged, and a stock with no quote here at all is left out — the basket says how many.

Today’s Top Headlines

The Stock tab lists the day’s releases and filings from stocks trading on unusual volume — the market’s own vote on which news matters. Each carries a badge for the kind of news (Contract, FDA, Earnings, Financing…), never a prediction. Click one for its key points — a short summary of the release — with the full text one click away. The Market tab carries the big economy and policy headlines.

BreakoutScan AI

The card on the right is the assistant. Click one of its suggested questions or type your own: the answer appears in the card, and you can keep the conversation going there. The pointer button lets you click a card, a row or a list on Home to ask about it, and New chat starts over. Leave Home and the same conversation is waiting in the assistant’s panel.
