Questions

What's included in the free trial?

The full product, every feature and every stock we cover, for 7 days. Nothing is charged today. You add a card at sign-up; if you don't cancel before the trial ends, it's charged automatically at the plan price you picked. The card also keeps free trials to one per person. If you've had a trial before, sign-up tells you so and shows the price before anything is charged.

What happens when the trial ends?

About two days before it ends (around day 5), we email you the date and your plan's price. When the 7 days are up, your plan starts at the price you picked, unless you've cancelled. Cancel before then and you pay nothing.

How do I cancel?

From your account page, any time. No email or phone call needed. Before you confirm, we ask why you're leaving and offer a way to stay (extra days or a discount during the trial; a pause or a discount on a paid plan), and you can say no to each. Cancel during the trial and you're never charged, and access ends right away. Cancel a paid plan and you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.

Where does the data come from, and how fresh is it?

Catalysts are read from SEC filings (8-K, 10-Q, 10-K, S-1, 424B and more), from releases on the major newswires (GlobeNewswire, PR Newswire, Business Wire, ACCESS Newswire and Newsfile), and from each company's own announcements. Catalysts link to the filing or release they were read from. Each weeknight we check every company we cover for new filings and re-read the ones with something new; chart patterns and trend lines are redrawn nightly too. Prices and runners update live from pre-market to after hours. Order flow refreshes every 10 to 30 minutes through the session.

Who writes the catalyst cards, and what if one is wrong?

An AI model reads each company's recent filings and releases and drafts the card. Rules in code then set its dates and check its impact rating. It can still get one wrong, so cards link to their source, show the day they were analyzed, and say when a newer filing hasn't been read yet. If you spot a mistake, email support@breakoutscan.com with the ticker.

How is this different from a screener or a trading chat room?

A screener filters numbers, and a chat room tells you what someone else thinks. BreakoutScan reads the filings and releases behind every stock it covers, pulls out the pending event (dated in the company's own words when the company gives a date), and puts the cash runway and any shelf, ATM or warrants on file next to it. Catalysts link to their source, so you can check them yourself.

Who is it for, and which stocks does it cover?

Active traders of US small caps who trade around news, catalysts and breakouts. It scans 5,500+ US-listed common stocks and ADRs every session. It doesn't cover OTC stocks, options or crypto, so if that's your market, it isn't the right tool.

Is BreakoutScan financial advice?

No. BreakoutScan is a research tool, not a broker or an investment adviser, and nothing in it is a recommendation to buy or sell. It reads the filings, finds the levels and flags dilution and cash risk. Labels like "high impact" describe how the software sorted the data, not what you should do. The decision is always yours.

What is the Founders' Rate, and will my price go up?

It's the annual plan: $708 a year, which works out to $59 a month, against $1,788 for a year at the $149 monthly price. It's our early-member rate, and we won't always offer it. If prices ever change, you'll get at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal, and you can cancel from your account page before then.

Can I get a refund?

As a rule, no. Except where the law requires it, payments aren't refunded, including for part of a month or year. That's why first-time members get 7 days free and an email before the first charge, so you can decide before you pay anything.

How is order flow calculated?

On most stocks, every trade is marked buyer- or seller-initiated by the tick test (did it print above or below the last different price), and larger orders are checked against the bid and ask at that moment where quote data allows. Companies over $10B, and days with a very heavy tape, use a simpler one-minute money-flow measure. Public data doesn't show who started a trade, so it's an estimate, and we label it as one.

Do you sell my data?

No. We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use third-party advertising trackers. Stripe handles payments, so your full card number never reaches our servers.

Can I use it on my phone?

It runs in your web browser on a computer or a phone, so there's nothing to install; the Desk and the scanners are built for a bigger screen. One browser can be signed in at a time: signing in somewhere else signs the first one out.
